John Casalino
DC
Chiropractor
What inspired Dr. John Casalino to become a chiropractor?
Dr. John Casalino’s path to chiropractic care began with a series of life-altering events. As a pedestrian, he was struck by a car on three separate occasions. Each time, he experienced frustration with traditional medical treatments—contracting a staph infection, enduring a missed fracture, and nearly undergoing unnecessary exploratory surgery. These experiences challenged his trust in conventional medicine and nearly deterred him from becoming a doctor—until he discovered chiropractic care.
Two years later, Dr. Casalino met a chiropractor who introduced him to the garden hose principle: the idea that just as a kinked hose interrupts water flow, pinched nerves can disrupt communication within the body. This understanding redefined what it meant to be a doctor for him and solidified his calling to chiropractic medicine.
What is Dr. John Casalino’s educational background?
Dr. Casalino began his journey in a pre-med program in Tucson before being accepted into the National College of Chiropractic (now National University of Health Sciences) in Lombard, Illinois. There, he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine, graduating in 1985. He continued his education with over 500 hours of specialized training in rehabilitation therapy, sports assessment, and treatment—earning his certification as a Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) in 1994.
What is Dr. John Casalino’s approach to chiropractic care?
Blending gentle techniques learned through formal education with wisdom passed down by seasoned practitioners, Dr. Casalino has developed a compassionate and highly effective treatment philosophy. He integrates modern technologies with tried-and-true chiropractic methods to offer personalized, results-driven care to his patients.
What are Dr. John Casalino’s professional achievements and advocacy roles?
In 1999, Dr. Casalino was appointed by Arizona State Senate President Brenda Burns to serve on the State Senate Task Force on HMO reform. His contributions helped shape the Managed Care Accountability Act, a landmark bill that secured patient rights to access chiropractic care as a covered benefit. The bill became law in 2001.
He later served as Public Policy Chairman for the Arizona Association of Chiropractic, was elected Vice President in 2000, and served as President from 2002 to 2005. Today, he continues to advocate for patient rights both in Arizona and nationally as a delegate to the American Chiropractic Association.
Has Dr. John Casalino received any recognition?
In 2005, Dr. Casalino was honored with the Chiropractor of the Year Award at the Arizona State Chiropractic Convention—the first time the award had been presented in nearly a decade. The recognition reflects his dedication to his patients, profession, and advocacy for improved access to care.
What is Dr. John Casalino’s care philosophy?
Dr. Casalino believes in educating and empowering his patients to understand their bodies and take an active role in their health. He is passionate about providing holistic, non-invasive care that restores function, improves quality of life, and supports the body’s natural healing processes.
